Local residents in the Parish of Chobham are being invited to have their say on the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan: 2019 to 2038.
The Plan, developed by the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group on behalf the Parish Council, sets out a vision for the future of the village which is reflective of the views and wishes of local residents.
Neighbourhood plans give communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area to meet the community's needs. Decisions and policies set out within the plan includes deciding where new homes, shops, and offices should be built and influence the design and infrastructure of these developments. These planning policies can then become part of the development plan which is used to determine planning applications.
The Chobham Neighbourhood Plan sets a vision that wants to retain the qualities of the buildings in the village's Conservation Area, and preserve and protect the Green Belt and semi-rural areas of the village from over-development.
Throughout the course of the development of the Plan, there have been public consultations which have helped to influence and form the basis of the Plan.
You can attend a drop-in session on Saturday 8th June at the Parish Pavilion between 11:00 and 17:00 to give your views on the draft policies.
