South East Water have provided Michael Gove MP an update on the works on The Street in Tongham, and how they are ahead of schedule to re-open the road.
Commenting, Michael said:
"Further to my update last month, I am delighted to report that I have received news from South East Water that the works on The Street in Tongham are nearing completion 3 weeks ahead of schedule, and that the site should be cleared by early next week.
"Given the original proposals involved a suggested 21 week closure which would have been highly disruptive to local residents and businesses, to see the works being concluded so swiftly is hugely welcome.
"I would like to thank all those who shared their thoughts and concerns with South East Water to help ensure the works were prioritised and completed as rapidly as possible."
