Following all ballots being counted, the local election results for Guildford Borough Council have been announced.
Unfortunately, for our six candidates within the Surrey Heath constituency, despite their hard work and efforts, none were elected.
The Liberal Democrat party have now taken overall control of the Council, following a period of four years in coalition with the Residents for Guildford and Villages group.
The Conservatives, having gained a seat, now become the official opposition on the Council, with 10 councillors.
For Ash Parish Council, there was no ballot for as the wards were uncontested. This will mean that three people will need to be co-opted onto the Council at a later date.
The following individuals all become Parish Councillors following the uncontested election:
Ash South
Cookson, Carl George (Independent)
Golding, Paul (Independent)
Ash Vale
Lucas, Richard (Independent)
Manning, Nigel (Conservative)
Morson, Carla (Independent*)
Moseley, Marsha (Conservative)
Ash Wharf
Bellamy, Philip (Independent)
Tonks, John (Conservative)
White, Fiona (Independent)
*Carla Morson is the Lib Dem County Councillor for Ash and Lib Dem Councillor for Ash Vale, though stood as an Independent for Ash Parish Council.
