For residents in Guildford Borough Council, it's sad news to hear that House of Fraser will be closing it's door in September.
The decision to increase parking charges by the Lib Dem leadership in July last year has hurt the town centre, and House of Fraser's departure marks a long list of many big brands that have left.
As SurreyLive reported, Guildford has seen a series of staple high street brands leave, including TGI Friday's, Burger King and Game.
This announcement comes on top of the news last month that the council is at risk of bankruptcy. Given how the Lib Dems have been responsible for running Guildford Borough Council since 2019, the mismanagement and the decline in the town centre is a serious cause of concern for residents.
