At the Cabinet meeting of Surrey County Council held today (Tuesday 25th July), a number of important topics were discussed, all of which will benefit residents across the county.
At Cabinet, the administration approved:
- A £2.8m grant to the Wildlife Aid Foundation to build a new visitors centre & community hub in Leatherhead through Your Fund Surrey.
- A £900k grant to the Ashford Community Hub for a new building via YFS.
- The design & construction of Extra Care Housing at three sites in Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede and Tandridge.
- Allocating £3.3m for a replacement four-bed and additional two-bed children’s home.
- The Freedom to Travel Strategy, ensuring no one is left behind when travelling across the county.
- An additional multi-million pound investment to expand Educational Psychology and Special Educational Needs capacity at pace, enabling Education Health & Care Plan assessment timeliness to be improved as quickly as possible.
