Surrey Heath is home to one of the rarest habitats in the whole of the country, the lowland heath. It is home to an abundance of wildlife and rich in biodiversity.
Michael Gove MP visited the Save Me Trust Centre in Windlesham to speak with co-founder Anne Brummer, on what action the Government can take now to help ensure habitats in the country, such as what we are lucky to have in Surrey Heath, are preserved and enhanced.
Save Me was founded by Brian May and Anne Brummer to work on the issues affecting wildlife today and exists to protect the welfare and dignity of wild animals.
Commenting, Michael said:
"I always love visiting the Save Me Trust’s Rescue Centre in Windlesham, and it was enlightening to talk to co-founder Anne Brummer about what more the Government can do to protect our wildlife.
"The Trust does such crucial work nursing injured and unwell animals back to their best health, and it was inspiring to see this work first hand."
