As pubs and restaurants begin to re-open their doors after the lockdown, Michael Gove MP visited several local businesses within Surrey Heath to see how they are serving customers in line with the new guidelines and enjoy a couple of drinks himself.
Commenting, Michael said:
"It was a pleasure yesterday to pop by some of the pubs and businesses that are re-opening as lockdown lifts.
"I was joined by Cllr David Mansfield at the Hare and Hounds in West End for a drink and a chance to catch up. It was great to see the pub open and residents enjoying a quiet drink. We discussed issues ranging from the proposed route of the Esso Pipeline to the future of British Airways, where so many constituents work.
"I then stopped by the Half Moon in Windlesham for a drink, a bite to eat and a chat with landlord Conrad Sturt. Throughout the lockdown Conrad has been providing a delivery service, including supplying meals to charities helping those in need. It was good to see families enjoying a relaxed drink in the extensive garden at the Half Moon served by the friendly and engaging staff.
"I hope as many of you as possible are able to enjoy summer safely - supporting great local pubs and businesses while doing everything to respect the rules designed to keep us all safe."
