The pedestrian crossing on Bagshot High Street has been resurfaced and the zebra crossing has been freshly repainted, thanks to the combined efforts of local councillors.
Cllr Richard Tear used part of his highways allowance, as a County Councillor, to help get the work completed, and joined Bagshot & North Windlesham Councillors Mark Gordon and Valerie White to inspect the work first-hand.
Commenting, Cllr Mark Gordon said:
"Not quite the Abbey road pic, just three of your councillors showing what collaboration can achieve!
"Really proud of the new High Street and crossing, Valerie White and I have been lobbying our County Councillor, Richard Tear to pester highways for a long time to do the work that was needed, not just a patch job and I have to say I think they have done an amazing job, we have a beautiful village that we can all be proud of.
"Next is the new outdoor gym, then the first of our play area refurbishments, lots more stuff to come in Bagshot as all three levels of council, Parish, Borough and County work together to make the ward a better place to live."
Richard added:
"Great news about Bagshot High Street, this has been needed for a long time and has been a great use of some of my highways allowance.
"In Chobham another much needed repair has been the resurfacing of part of Bagshot Road. Further improvements such as the St. Lawrence School crossing with associated traffic calming measures are expected soon. There have been a number of positive emails from local residents here too and Surrey Highways are always delighted when I pass them on.
"One of the joys of what I do is working with Parish and Borough Councillors to get improvements for our residents."
