After a two-year hiatus, the Surrey Heath Show was back at Frimley Lodge Park, raising a record profit for local voluntary groups and charities.
The show is a fun day out for the whole family, and is organised by a hard-working group of dedicated volunteers. The show helps to raise money and awareness for local groups and causes. Since being launched in 2007, the show has distributed profits to over 100 local charities and community groups, such as Surrey Heath Age Concern, Camberley Alzheimer’s Café, Frimley Park Hospital Charity and Surrey Heath Veterans and Families Listening Project.
The highlight this year, as in previous years, was the main arena where dancers, gymnasts, circus acts and musicians show cased their talents. There was a variety of stalls, in addition to a classic car display, a dog show, a funfair and horticultural display.
At this year's show, the Basingstoke Canal Society co-ordinated a boat trip along the canal, to mark the Society's delayed 30th anniversary celebrations. There was also canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding on the water organised by local clubs.
