The Queen's Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative inviting people from across the United Kingdom to "Plant a Tree for the Jubilee".
In addition to the planting of new trees across the country, The Queen's Green Canopy has dedicated a network of 70 Ancient Woodlands and identified 70 remarkable ancient trees to celebrate Her Majesty's 70 years of service.
In Surrey Heath, new Jubilee trees have been placed along Camberley High Street to mark the occasion. The Mayor of Surrey Heath Cllr Sarah Jane Croke was joined by Cllr Robin Perry to visit the new trees.
Commenting, the Mayor said:
“These delightful new trees bring greenery and nature into Camberley town centre as well as supporting the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative.
“The Council is committed to looking after and conserving our green areas and maintaining Surrey Heath’s status as having the highest level of tree coverage in England and Wales, at more than 40%.”
