Victory in Europe Day marks it's 75th anniversary, and the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Robin Perry, has led a toast to both those making sacrifices today, and those who sacrificed so much for our freedom in the led up to VE Day.
VE Day on the 8th of May 1945, was the day the Second World War in Europe ended. It was a momentous day which we remember and celebrate with pride.
The 75th anniversary of this occasion would be marked with public events and social gatherings with family and friends, however, due to the current restrictions of the pandemic, this is not possible.
Instead, the Mayor of Surrey Heath has released a video message to invite residents across the Borough in raising a toast to the heroes of then, and the heroes of today.
