The High Court have granted Surrey County Council a final injunction lasting three years forbidding incursions onto Chobham Common.
The injunction forbids 'persons unknown' from:
- setting up an encampment within the boundaries of Chobham Common without the express written permission of the Claimant as Landowner;
- entering or occupying for residential purposes within the boundaries of Chobham Common without the express written permission of the Claimant as Landowner:
- depositing waste or fly-tipping within the boundaries of Chobham Common without the express written permission of the Claimant as Landowner.
The Final Injunction contains a Penal Notice which means anyone breaching it may be held in contempt of court and may be imprisoned, fined or have their assets seized.
The Final Injunction Order remains in force until midnight on 1 February 2026.
