A retrospective planning application submitted by Surrey County Council has been unanimously refused by the Planning Committee at Surrey Heath Borough Council.
Commenting, Alex Hanney, Parish Councillor for Chobham, said:
"These signs were out-of-touch with the natural environment of Chobham Common, and it's good news the Planning Committee at Surrey Heath has rejected SCC's retrospective planning application unanimously.
"I hope that SCC will now listen to the views of the Parish Council and local residents, and install signs that will be sympathetic to our common.
"Thanks should be given to the Chobham Society and Cllr. Pat Tedder for playing a key role in arguing for the removal of these signs."
