Club Dean is back up and running at the Old Dean Youth Centre, thanks to the work of local councillors Trefor and Shaun.
Club Dean is a free multi-sports evening for 11-16 year olds, which temporarily closed back in February this year after Time Youth Agency stepped away from the project after overseeing the successful opening of Club Dean. Thanks to the work of Old Dean councillors Trefor Hogg and Cllr. Shaun Garrett, officers at Surrey Heath Borough Council and Katy Baker at Camberley Youth Work, Club Dean re-opened it's doors last week, Tuesday 16th May.
Commenting, Shaun said:
"Last night I volunteered at Club Dean. It was great to see the young people interacting with each other, playing computer games, board games, badminton, pool, and ping pong.
"Watching all this made all the hard work to get to this point really worthwhile. My daughter wanted to go along and met up with one of her friends from school and they had a really good time.
"It was great to see Trefor Hogg who came along and we discussed what extra support we can offer to Club Dean. I would like to thank you the other volunteers, who this just couldn't be possible without. Also massive thanks to Katy YouthWork for all her hard work in pulling this together.
"There was still space last night so if you would like your young person to come along please bring them along. Don't forget this Youth Club is FREE and is for all young people."
Trefor Hogg added:
"At Club Dean tonight things were looking good - so great to see our young people enjoying themselves and trying everything on offer. Katy and her team of volunteers are doing a fantastic job."
Club Dean currently runs two different groups on alternate Tuesdays from 18:00 to 19:30 for different school years:
