Michael Gove MP visited Camberley Care in the town centre to meet the fantastic team who provide support to elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the Camberley and Frimley community.
This year, Camberley Care marks it's 50th Anniversary having first started back in 1974 when the minister of Camberley United Reformed Church started a project to assist those in need in the local community. It soon evolved and grew, with the Frimley and Camberley District Council of Churches becoming involved leading to the establishment of the charity.
Commenting, Michael said:
"On Friday, I visited Camberley Care in the Town Centre and met the brilliant team there who deliver a fantastic car service and a subsidised handyperson service for vulnerable, elderly and disabled members of the local community.
"The charity has just celebrated its 50th year and they are keen for more volunteers to join their friendly and passionate team to help provide essential and safe transport for their clients.
"Voluntary roles are completely flexible, and there is no minimum time commitment.
"Speaking with the team there, it is evident they find their roles hugely rewarding and I was impressed to hear about the wonderful work they do."
