As Surrey County Council's Active Travel Champion, and an aficionado of all things two wheels, Cllr Paul Deach joined in with the recent Kidical Mass Ride in Guildford.
The event is part of a global campaign that advocates for the rights of children and young people to move safely and independently on foot or by bike. There were participants from across the community, highlighting the growing popularity of active travel.
This year's event in Guildford is part of Surrey County Council's broader vision and objectives to enhance transport and mobility options that are sustainable, secure, and accessible to all age groups.
Paul not only participated in the ride but also assisted the Marshall team, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly and safely for the numerous families in attendance. Commenting, Paul said:
"The Kidical Mass Ride is a fantastic example of what we can achieve when we come together as a community to support the active mobility of our younger generation.
"It’s about more than just riding bikes; it’s about advocating for the infrastructure and support needed to make active travel a viable and safe choice for our children."
