As part of Armed Forces Week, on Veterans Day we thank all former service personnel who served in the Forces, and pay our respects to those who are no longer with us.
The United Kingdom has a highly skilled and diverse veteran population, with over 1.8 million veterans across the country. Here in Surrey Heath, there are over 3,000 veterans residing here in the Borough - making up 4.4 percent of total residents.
In Surrey, there are 13 established Veterans' Hubs that offer a relaxed space for veterans to drop in, have a brew, and talk with others who have also served. These hubs provide a way to gain support, advice and services all under one roof. This means a minimum of two services or charities available at least once a month.
Locally here in Surrey Heath, the Camberley Veterans and Families Listening Project, based at High Cross Church, is ran on the second Monday of each month, from 10:00 to 13:00.
