Michael Gove MP met with Cllr Trefor Hogg, Surrey County Councillor for Camberley East, at Waitrose Bagshot to discuss how high inflation is causing food prices to rise, and causing residents here in Surrey Heath to struggle with the cost of living.
As part of Waitrose's Community Matters programme, partners from the store presented Michael and Trefor with a cheque for £500. This donation will go towards the Old Dean Community Group and St. Martin's Free Food Stall.
Commenting, Trefor said:
"Big thank you Waitrose & Partners for the £500 donation to the joint Old Dean Community Group and St Martin's Free Food Stall today and the opportunity to talk to Michael Gove about what is being done locally to combat food poverty."
Michael added:
"I was delighted to see the amazing community hero, Cllr Trefor Hogg, receiving £500 on behalf of the Old Dean Communtity Group as part of Waitrose’s brilliant Community Matters programme, which provides much welcome support for local charities."
