Surrey County Council has launched a new campaign to support residents with the Cost of Living increased costs by directing them to a variety of support and services to help them.
As part of this, ‘Your Essential Services’ directory is being delivered to all households in Surrey. This includes information on a wide range services that the county council provide, along with advice and support from local and national services.
An official from Surrey County Council said:
“We know that there are many people struggling with the cost of living, and as colder weather approaches that anxiety people feel is increased. The council is here to provide vital services that people rely on every day, and we want to make sure that everyone in Surrey knows how to access those services and what support is available to them. We hope residents find our directory useful, and can access the help they might need.
"The directory covers services such as the Surrey Crisis Fund who provide financial help to those that need it most, how to find out more about our Warm Welcome spaces this winter, as well as information on food banks and local charities.
"We also have a variety of services available to all such as our Energy Advice Tool so you can easily find out if you are eligible for any schemes to make your house more energy efficient along with advice on things like debt relief grants and fuel vouchers.
"Your Essential Services highlights support available in your local area including from your District or Borough, County Councillor and how your Community Link Officer can help.
"To boost your income, you can find out how to learn a new skill, progress your career or take a course to help you and your household with the cost of living. This could be from one of the many Surrey Adult Learning courses, free numeracy classes from Multiply or some of the many opportunities available at your local library."
