Following hundred of entries, Michael is delighted to announce that the winners of his Christmas Card competition this year are:
· Group 1: Henry, in Reception of Coworth-Flexlands Nursery and Prep School in Chobham – Reindeer design
· Group 2: Zach, in Year 3 of St Lawrence C of E School in Chobham – Candles design
It was in mid-October that Michael wrote to all the Primary Schools in Surrey Heath, inviting them to submit entries for this year’s competition. On this occasion, he gave his Parliamentary staff the challenging task of picking two winning designs from a fantastic array of imaginative and enchanting creations.
The entries were divided into two groups: Group 1 for pupils in Reception to Year 2; and Group 2 for pupils in Year 3 to Year 6. After gathering in late November for careful deliberations, the staff unanimously agreed that the artwork by Henry and Zach were truly exceptional.
Their winning design will feature front and centre on Michael’s Christmas cards, and Henry and Zach will receive some Parliamentary-themed gifts as prizes.
Commenting, Michael said:
"Every year, I so look forward to my Christmas card competition and very much enjoy receiving all the wonderful and creative designs from pupils throughout Surrey Heath. I know that my staff had a very difficult task this year in selecting the winners.
"There were so many brilliant entries and I would like to thank all the children for taking part, and their teachers for supporting them."
