Surrey Heath Borough Council is in the process of installing electric vehicle charging points at seven car parks in the Borough.
Whilst the installation works are taking place, from 31st July and expected to be finished later this year in November, some parking bays will be suspended to allow the chargers to be put in place. The seven car parks set to have EV chargers installed are:
- Bagshot Car Park, The Square, Bagshot
- Chobham High Street Car Park, Chobham
- Burrell Road Car Park, Frimley
- Watchetts Road Car Park, Camberley
- Yorktown Car Park, Camberley
- Portesbery Road Residents Car Park, Camberley
- Martindale Avenue Car Park, Heatherside
These car parks were chosen following a consultation with residents last year, which highlighted how access to charging facilities, particularly overnight charging, was a particular issue for residents that did not have access to off-street parking.
EV charging points have also been installed at the multi-storey car parks in Camberley town centre; Knoll Road and Main Square.
