At the Planning Applications Committee of Surrey Heath Borough Council held this evening (Thursday 24th August), only one application came become the committee.
Application Number: 23/0727/ADV - Surrey Heath House, Knoll Road, Camberley, GU15 3HD
This planning application related to obtaining advertisement consent to fly an Intersex-Inclusive Progressive Pride flag outside on the existing flagpole outside of Surrey Heath House in Camberley.
Whilst a Rainbow Pride Flag does not require planning permission, this variation of the flag - with a rainbow design with black, brown, pink, pale blue and white stripes, with a yellow triangle and purple circle - does need consent, as under the Advertisement Regulations 2007 (as amended), the Intersex-Inclusive Progressive Pride flag does not currently have deemed consent.
Therefore, the application had been reported by Surrey Heath Borough Council Officers to the Planning Committee as the Council was the applicant.
Planning officer Melissa Turney recommended the Committee to approve the application, subject to the conditions set out in the report - attached below for reference.
The application was proposed by Cllr Richard Wilson and seconded by Cllr Liz Noble.
This was put to the vote and carried unanimously by all Councillors present.
