With the start of the new municipal year, the first full Executive Committee meeting at Surrey Heath Borough Council was held this evening (Tuesday 30th May).
At the meeting, the Executive agreed to the make up of working groups and outside bodies that Councillors would be appointed onto. It was agreed that some positions would remain vacant, due to the ongoing election for Frimley Green, and that these appointments would be filled following the election results.
Whilst decisions are taken by the Full Council, its Committees, and by the Executive, working groups report to and make recommendations that help to influence how decisions are made. At Surrey Heath Borough Council, there are five working groups detailed below:
Climate Change Working Group
To lead on the Council’s work to address Climate Change and the Ecological Emergency, in accordance with the Council’s adopted policy
Engaging Communities Working Group
To improve the way the Council engages with diverse communities, including the way it consults and empowers local residents.
Improving Places Working Group
To provide oversight of key projects to improve infrastructure in villages, rural and urban areas of the borough.
Local Plan Working Group
To consider and make recommendations to the Executive, and the Council, in relation to the Local Development Scheme and other documents with a view to the adoption of the Surrey Heath Local Plan.
