With the General Election campaign well underway, Surrey Heath Conservatives were out and about in Lightwater with Michael Gove MP speaking with residents.
Whilst many might be thinking of Backing Boris, a consultation by Surrey Heath Borough Council is being ran on Windlesham Parish Council (WPC) as part of a Community Governance Review. This was brought about after a petition was submitted by 619 electors within WPC, with residents being asked which of the four options they would like to see implemented to decide the future of the current Parish Council. The consultation runs until 28th October 2019.
Commenting, Cllr. Katia Malcaus Cooper said:
"Today I was out campaigning with fellow Councillors Cllr. Jarmila Halovsky Yu, Cllr. James Harris, Cllr. Rebecca Jennings-Evans, along with Ursula Trentham and Michael Gove in Lightwater.
"The issues on the doorsteps were unsurprisingly Brexit, traffic, crime and the CGR (Community Governance Review), where residents felt passionately that we are better off together and we should stay as one Council."
