Reserves play a fundamental role across our Armed Forces, serving our country alongside their civilian careers and family life.
The Reserve Forces make up approximately a sixth of our Armed Forces Personnel, and as such are integral to protecting the nation's security at home and overseas, providing capability in specialist areas such as medical, engineering, logistics, and cyber.
That's why as part of Armed Forces Week, Reserves Day is held to thanks those serving as a reservist for their service. As Sir Winston Churchill said, a reservist "is twice the citizen."
As part of Armed Forces Week, Reserves Day aims to raise awareness of the role and value of reservists, and to thank them for their dedication and professionalism. In Surrey Heath Conservatives, we have several reservists within our Association, including serving Councillor Josh Thorne.
