A new pedestrian controlled crossing is being proposed to be installed along Portsmouth Road, Frimley, by the Grove Primary School.
Surrey County Council are currently running a public consultation to hear from local residents on their views and comments on these proposals.
Commenting, Edward Hawkins, County Councillor for Heatherside and Parkside, said:
"I am delighted to report that there has been further progress on the proposed pedestrian crossing on the Portsmouth Road by the Grove School.
"Surrey County Council has published a notice under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police proposing the Pedestrian Crossing on Portsmouth Road.
"The proposal is that the crossing will be 47 metres north-east of the roundabout junction of Portsmouth Road and Chobham Road and will be 4 metres wide."
