Plans have been submitted by Surrey County Council to install a new signal-controlled pedestrian crossing on Upper Chobham Road, outside Ravenscote Junior School.
This notice for the installation of a pelican crossing comes after the Local Area Committee for Surrey Heath, having met earlier in the year, voted to upgrade the road table to a signalled crossing, confirming that funding for a safe crossing at Ravenscote has been allocated for this project.
Residents are invited to make proposals about the planned crossing, and these can be sent to Surrey County Council here.
Commenting, County Councillor Edward Hawkins said:
"It is about seven years since I first started the campaign to get a safer crossing at Ravenscote School which started with a raised platform and speed cushions. Thanks to SCC Officers, Louise Grainger and local residents, matters have now progressed resulting in the following notice being issued."
