Michael Gove joined Surrey Heath Borough Councillors to celebrate Places Leisure, Camberley, first anniversary.
Since opening on the 1st July 2021, the new 7000m² Places Leisure Camberley has taken pride of place in the heart of its community - welcoming 60k people through its doors in its first month alone and thriving at a time where access to leisure was never more important.
Michael congratulated the team that delivered the project on time and on budget in the midst of a nationwide pandemic: Surrey Heath Borough Council, architects, Roberts Limbrick, and construction partners Pellikaan Construction. He then unveiled a plaque to mark its opening.
Cllr Rebecca Jennings-Evans, who as Portfolio holder for Places and Strategy was responsible for the project, welcomed this state-of-the-art facility for Surrey Heath residents.
