Dear resident,
I am writing to inform you that the local election in Frimley Green will be taking place on Thursday 15 June.
You will have the opportunity to elect three councillors to represent our community at Surrey Heath Borough Council and I would encourage you to consider voting for my Conservative colleagues Cllr. Stuart Black, Attieh Fard and Howard Thomson - all three are hardworking community champions.
These elections were rescheduled due to the sudden passing of Karen Campion, our Conservative colleague, who had been one of the candidates. Karen was passionate about serving our community and would have made a fantastic councillor. Her loss is keenly felt by her family, colleagues, and friends.
Following the elections elsewhere in the Borough the Liberal Democrats now hold a large majority at Surrey Heath Borough Council. This election in Frimley Green will therefore not decide which party runs the council.
However, we can elect three strong local champions to hold the Lib Dems to account to deliver their election promises, and elect experienced, competent and caring candidates to stand up for Frimley Green at the council and to proudly represent our community.
Cllr. Stuart Black was elected two years ago because you wanted a visible and accessible councillor who would put the community before party politics. That collaborative spirit has never been more important. I am certain you want councillors who are focused on working with me on fixing local issues like our roads and not political point-scoring.
Your vote really matters. I do hope you will use yours in support of Stuart, Attieh and Howard.
- Cllr. Paul Deach
County Councillor for Frimley Green and Mytchett
