This Fryday is National Fish and Chip Day, marking one of Britain's favourite iconic dishes and the contribution that this industry makes to society 🐟🍟
There are over 10,000 fish and chips shops across the country, generating over £1 billion in revenue annually, and here in Surrey Heath we have numerous great local chippy's all over the plaice.
Stuart Black dropped by Silver Sea in Frimley Green for a cod and chips, and in Lightwater, Oysters Fish and Chips held an event to celebrate National Fish and Chip day.
Commenting, Cllr Lewis Mears said:
"Today marks national Fish and Chips day! Cllr Shaun Garrett, Mayor Pat Tedder, Paul Deach and I were, very kindly, invited to celebrate at Oysters Fish and Chips in Lightwater. It was great to see many residents there too. Make sure to visit and support a local fish and chip shop near you today!"
