Cllrs Shaun Garrett and Lewis Mears came across a lion whilst at The Square in Camberley today.
Fortunately for the councillors, this lion wasn't roaring as it forms part of the Summer Safari in the town centre. This event is running from Saturday 29th July to Sunday 27th August, with prizes available to those that complete the trail.
Commenting, Shaun said:
"Now that really was quite a busy Saturday morning with myself and Cllr Lewis Mears spending the morning together.
"The day started with a Men’s breakfast at St. Martin's thanks as always to Chef Clark. Certainly set us up for the day. A number of residents were able to discuss a few issues they have.
"We then went to The Square for the launch of the Summer Safari Trail officially opened by Surrey Heath Mayor. This will be running until 27th August. More details available at www.thesqcamberley.co.uk.
"Then we popped back to St. Martins for there Jumble Sale which was very busy. Bumped in to a number of residents who stopped for a chat.
"When took the opportunity to meet a resident who wanted to speak to us about an issue they have.
"Finally we went to the South side of The Old Dean Ward (South of the A30). We took note of a number of pot holes and bad road surfaces and also started dropping off our Thank You leaflet. In the coming weeks we will be posting this to all residents with all our contact details and a link to a brief questionnaire."
