Due to the pandemic restrictions this year, the Great British Spring Clean was postponed and instead Keep Britain Tidy held a Great British September Clean.
Michael Gove MP joined a socially-distanced litter pick with staff from Surrey Heath Borough Council and local residents along the River Blackwater in Camberley. Together, they collected seven bags of litter plus various larger items including a table, a car registration plate and scrap metal.
The Great British September Clean campaign is encouraging people across the country to organise their own local litter picks between the 11th to 27th September.
