The LIFE Initiative at Frimley Green stands out as a beacon of hope and positivity, driven by the enthusiastic youth of Surrey.
Councillor Paul Deach's recent visit to the Frimley Green Learning Hub and Library highlights the commendable efforts of local young people, engaging in projects that not only enhance their community but also protect the environment.
Commenting, Paul said:
"Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the LIFE Initiative at the Frimley Green Learning Hub and the Frimley Green Library. The visit was enlightening as I got to meet some of the incredible young people who are part of the programme.
"One particularly memorable moment was when a student, having researched extensively about me, shared what they had learned. The detail and effort they put into understanding my activity and interests were remarkable. Encounters like these highlight the curiosity, dedication, and potential of our youth.
"Across the road at the Frimley Green Library, I saw the tangible impact of these young individuals' hard work. A group of students from the Youth Hub are involved in remodelling a space within the library. They have begun to strip out the space and will start work on the remodelling soon. I have pledged to try and seek funding to support this vital project further.
"I was also briefed on another extraordinary project the Learning Hub is championing – making Frimley Green a Swift-friendly environment. This initiative, supported by local businesses, exemplifies the community's commitment to biodiversity and environmental stewardship. It's heartening to see our young people take the lead on such an important cause, ensuring a safer, greener future for both our community and its wildlife.
"Visiting the Frimley Green Learning Hub and Library has been an enlightening experience, showcasing the remarkable talents and aspirations of our young people. Their involvement in community projects, from library remodelling to environmental conservation, fills me with hope and pride for what can achieved.
"I would like to thank Jo Heath who is the Surrey County Council the officer who leads the LIFE Project at the Frimley Green Learning Hub, her dedicated staff (who have the patience of saints) and the young people who gave me such a warm welcome.
"As I commit to supporting these initiatives, I am reminded of the power of community, collaboration, and the bright future that lies ahead for our young people. Let's continue to support them in every way we can."
