Last night, Councillor Josh Thorne joined Surrey Police's Neighbourhood Team alongside Surrey Police Specials, Cadets, and Neighbourhood Watch.
Patrols were conducted in St. Paul's, Windlesham, West End and Frimley, discussing crime prevention, providing leaflets and safety advice to residents. The areas patrolled had been chosen because of properties that had been the recent victims of burglaries. Surrey Police continue to visit other affected areas of the Borough.
Surrey Police are campaigning to raise awareness on the importance of ensuring that your home is well protected and the importance of making homes look occupied, particularly during the hours of dusk and darkness.
Surrey Police have provided these simple tips to keep your home as safe as possible:
- Make sure you leave a light or radio on when you go out
- Ensure all doors and windows are locked
- If possible, install external lighting to your house
- Consider installing CCTV, defensive planting, and alarms on patio door.
