Armed Forces Day was back for another year in Camberley, showcasing the town's rich history and close links with the military.
Surrey Heath has a rich and deep connection with the Armed Forces, particularly given that Aldershot, Home of the British Army, is just next door and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst has its ceremonial entrance on London Road, A30, with many of the staff and officer homes located in the Borough.
Historically, Camberley was home to Staff College, which trained Army officers, and the Princess Royal Barracks in Deepcut which was home to the Royal Logistics Corp (RLC) and the Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration.
Armed Forces Day in Camberley is an annual event organised and funded by Love Camberley - The Collectively Camberley BID, that provides an opportunity for the local community to come along and show its support for our Service Personnel, Past, Present and Future.
Commenting, Ed McGuinness said:
"Today was Armed Forces day in Camberley and what a tremendous day it was! It was great to see all the various stalls and displays from the firefighters, police and neighbourhood watch, through to cadets, the Places leisure centre and guide dogs.
"The weather also brightened up all across the town bringing more people out to see all the great work done by our community! Huge thanks to all the organisers and people manning the stands - was superb!"
