The Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham produces the best ale in the whole of Surrey (we might be bias), and are in the process of launching a new beer that is brewed using clean, green energy.
Michael Gove MP visited the brewery to meet with Rupert Thompson to see the new microbrewery, and speak about Natural England's proposals to increase the Surrey Hills Area of Natural Beauty that could include this part of the constituency.
Commenting, Michael said:
"I have just been to visit Hogs Back Brewery again, a fantastic business in Tongham. Rupert Thompson, Managing Director of the Brewery, gave me a tour of the new microbrewery, which they are launching as One Planet Brewing, a new subsidiary, and all the beer brewed under that name will be 100% solar brewed.
"We also spoke about the positive impact of the reform of Small Brewers Relief, dealing with HMRC, and the broader issues facing small companies in hospitality, and I will be speaking to the Treasury about what more can be done to help.
"Lastly, I had a look at the impressive and very beautiful hop garden, and I shall be in touch with Natural England about trying to ensure it is protected as part of the Surrey Hills AONB."
