A new bus route from Surrey Heath to Heathrow Airport is set to take-off from Monday 21st August.
The new 730 bus route, operated by Newbury & District, will start in Frimley, going to Camberley and stopping at Bagshot before arriving at T5 and Heathrow Airport central bus station.
The bus will operate on a turn-up and go basis, with no need for passengers to book in advance. For the first two weeks, as a special introductory offer, fares will be just £1.
Commenting, Robert Williams, Chief Executive Officer at Newbury & District, said:
"Our aim is to fill several gaps that we have identified in the current bus and train network along the M3/A30 corridor that are relatively easy to do by car, but difficult by bus or train.
"The service is not just for links to the airport, but all of the connections in-between too (e.g. Basingstoke to Camberley).
"The idea has been developed in partnership with Heathrow Airport, as the timing of the introduction is linked to the extension of the London Ultra Low Emission Zone to Heathrow from 29 August, which will make it a lot more expensive to take many car types to the Airport, and create significant demand from Heathrow employees."
