Michael Gove MP visited Turf Hill in Lightwater, with local Councillor, Rebecca Jennings-Evans, to view the damage that has been caused to some of the trees during the Esso Pipeline works.
During their conversation with Esso, it was acknowledged that there was no excuse for the damage and that they need to do better going forward to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Esso and the team from the local authority assured them that the trees would recover in time. Michael and Rebecca will continue to monitor the situation.
They also discussed residents’ concerns raised by Cllr Katia Malcaus Cooper regarding the planned road closures in Lightwater arising from the works. Rebecca is already in touch with the County’s Highways Team, and we will share more news on this in due course.
