A major renovation of Surrey Heath's tennis courts is set to get underway, thanks to a new partnership between Surrey Heath Borough Council and the Lawn Tennis Association.
The partnership will see investment of nearly £185,000 help to and refurbish public park tennis courts in Frimley Green, Mytchett and Watchetts.
The work that to be carried out will include resurfacing of the court surfaces and improved court accessibility, with new gate-access technology and booking systems following a successful trail at London Road Recreation Ground courts in Camberley.
Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Community Cllr. Rebecca Jennings-Evans said:
"I am thrilled that this project to redevelop a large number of our tennis courts is getting underway, and we are grateful to the Lawn Tennis Association for the extra funding which makes it possible.
"Improving our tennis courts at Frimley Green, Mytchett and Watchetts will support our commitment to improving access to quality sporting facilities, and help achieve our aim of healthier, more active communities. I look forward to seeing the finished results.”
